Your first multipitch climb

The routes ‘Bronchitis’ (6 pitches, up to UIAA V+) or ‘Rucola’ (7 pitches, up to UIAA VI-) on the face of the legendary Martinswand offer excellent climbing on solid rock with interesting sections and a slabby character. Their proximity to the city of Innsbruck gives them an urban flair and a fantastic panoramic view over the Inn Valley, yet they still offer an alpine feel. The routes are perfect for climbers looking to make the transition from a sport climbing to multi-pitch routes – or as the first route of the alpine climbing season. There’s plenty of time here to improve your technique and rope handling, or simply to enjoy the sunny rock! Thanks to their south-facing and sheltered location, the routes on the Martinswand also make for great winter destinations!
